Nofence is a Norwegian company that really knows agriculture and develops technology that makes everyday life better for people and grazing animals. Their vision is to contribute to better animal welfare, simpler animal husbandry, sustainable food production and better utilization of land resources throughout the world. With it’s services, Nofence gives animals access to good and varied pastures without the farmer needing to set up and maintain physical fences. The app allows farmers to keep an eye on the animals' location in real time, and if something happens they will be notified.
Together with Nofence, Axbit has developed a system consisting of a solar-powered GPS collar and a digital map. If an animal crosses the digital fence and enters the border zone, the collar starts playing a sound. It starts with a low tone that rises gradually as the animal enters the border zone. If the animal continues, it will receive a mild electrical pulse. Grazing animals quickly learn what this means and turn back. This ensures that they stay within the defined limit.
Axbit has worked closely with Nofence since 2018. Passion for animal welfare combined with technology is what we love about this company. Together we have developed everything from the mockup to the applications used by the farmers. It is exciting to see how this product enters the market both in Norway and the rest of the world. We are proud to be part of the team and excited about what Nofence has achieved so far.
